Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, nondenominational, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. Narcotics Anonymous is an international, community-based association of recovering drug addicts with weekly meetings in 113 countries. Cocaine Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from their addiction. Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a gambling problem. Al-Anon helps families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the problem drinking of a relative or friend. Similarly, Alateen is a recovery program for young people. AADAC (the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission) is an agency funded by the Government of Alberta to help Albertans achieve lives free from the abuse of alcohol, drugs and gambling.
